How can I register for an Academy class?

1.  Upon receipt of an outlook invite from the P&O Academies team accept the invitation making sure you select “Send Response Now.”   This will reserve your seat in the class.  


2.  Request registration from your My Learning page in P&O Academies.  All upcoming sessions of courses in your ILP or CLP can be requested.  Be sure to note the timings of the sessions before requesting registration.

Where can I direct my team members to learn more about the Academy and their Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and Continued Learning Plans (CLPs)?
Details about each Academy can be found on the P&O Academies website, https://pandoacademies.com. The site is accessible with a Dell Badge Number and each user will be required to create his or her own unique password.
The "Learner ILP or CLP Guide" has information regarding all of the features of the portal and is located under the "Help" option (in top right corner).

Why are some courses instructor-led while others are available in an online format?
Instructor-led courses were selected for topics that require high levels of peer interaction and discussion, while online courses were designed around topics more conducive to independent learning.

Will travel be considered for remote team members to participate in any in-class courses?
The majority of courses offered in-person also will be available through instructor-led, virtual classes that are targeted to each geographic region.

Will courses be applicable for external professional certifications?
This is currently under consideration and will be offered based on the relevant certification programs that apply to the functional skills of each Academy.

How long does it take to show credit for an Instructor Led course?
It takes 5-7 business days to receive credit on your P&O Academies Learning Plan once the course shows successful on your My Learning/SABA Transcript (Delivery Approach: Online Self and Instructor Led).

How can I guide my team members during their experience?
As a manager, you can provide several touch points to increase the impact of courses on team members. Prior to training, make sure you’re aligned with their ILPs and IDPs; set aside time to discuss these in-depth. Before each course begins, talk through what the learning expectations are for the specific topic. After each course, discuss what was learned and explore how to apply newly-gained skills in specific roles and situations.

Online classes typically are not as lively or interactive as in-class sessions. What can I do to help make these more engaging?
Though instructors are not physically present for these online courses, there still is an opportunity to create a high-touch learning experience for your team. For those team members who are in the same site, use online courses as an opportunity to bring them together in a room to experience learning together. Be more inclusive by inviting your remote team member(s) also required to take the same courses to participate via live meeting.

What is the difference between an ILP and an IDP?
An IDP, or Individual Development Plan, is created every fiscal year in conjunction with performance planning to outline an individual team member’s strengths, development needs, career interests and plan of action. An ILP is available through each Academy and consists of a tailored, training plan based on job role, family and level. To ensure team members get the most benefit from participating, managers and employees should work together to align courses in the ILP with their IDP development goals and career interests.

What is the expected length of time for completing each ILP?
ILPs were carefully planned for each team member, so they could be completed within a 24 or 30-month period (depending on the Academy). When that time is complete, individuals likely will have either a new role and/or the curriculum will be updated to meet our evolving business needs.

Are courses in ILPs required?
Every ILP contains suggested courses for the job grade and level, along with the option to waive courses and include additional ‘elective’ courses as desired. Completion of these courses is required to provide team members with the skills needed to enable the next step in Dell’s transformation.

How do I resubmit a waiver/course removal?
• Waivers are appropriate if learner is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) or took the course or equivalent
• Removals are appropriate if the course does not apply to the learner’s current role
• Adds are appropriate if the course enhances the learner’s development for current or future roles.
Manager approval is only required if there is a budget impact.
**Please note there is a 20% limitation for changes to Core Courses in each learner’s ILP.**

I don’t have an ILP. How do I get one?
Currently there are ILPs for specific job families in Product Marketing, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Engineering.  There are learning & development opportunities available for other job families in P&O.  Please contact your HRBP or your manager for more information on what is available.

I just completed my course. Why am I not seeing credit on my ILP?
It takes 5-7 business days to receive credit on your P&O Academies Learning Plan once the course shows successful on your My Learning/SABA Transcript (Delivery Approach: Online Self and Instructor-Led).  Third party content providers (Delivery Approach: Functional Online Self) will show credit within in 72 hrs of successful completion.  Pass rate for both delivery approach is 80% or better

Accenture courses (Delivery Approach: Functional Online Self) will show credit within 72hrs of successfully completing.  Pass rate for Functional Online Self courses is 80% or better.

How do I know if P&O Academies supports my organization?

Currently P&O Academies is limited to Jeff Clarke’s legacy GO&EUCS organization (Engineering, Marketing, Supply Chain and Procurement) and funded by those L3 leaders. There are learning & development resources available to you today including Developmental Tools located in the Career Resource Center.

How do I cancel/decline a class?
Go into your Outlook calendar, find the class invitation, and decline the invitation with a response.  

If you are declining the course after you accepted the course, please note the following:
1. If you are declining with more than 14-days prior to the course follow the above.
2. If you are declining with 14 or less days prior to the course you will need to find a replacement from your organization.

What if I am unable to attend training?
Please note that every class incurs a cost to the business. If you cancel within 14 days of the class, you are required to find a replacement for class.  Forward his/her name to P&O Academies and we will send the class invitation.

What if I am in a Sales Operations role, do I have access to P&O Academies?
Team members in Jeff Clarke's Products and Operations organization who have a Sales Operations role, should refer to the Dell Technologies Sales University for training.

How long does it take to show credit for a class I completed in Pluralsight?
Pluralsight (Delivery Approach: Functional Online Self) courses can take up to 72 (business) hours to reflect completion in the P&O Academies website.

If I do not have a Pluralsight license should I start a 10-day trial?
No, do not start a 10-day trial. If your ILP/CLP has a Pluralsight course in it reach out to the P&O academies mailbox to either verify your license has been redeemed or have a license sent to you. Once you redeem a Pluralsight license it will take 24-48 hours for the lock to be removed from the P&O portal launch button.

I do not remember my Pluralsight username and/or password
Your Pluralsight username is your dell.com email address. It is important to use the dot/period in your email address not your underscore (firstname.lastname@dell.com). If you have forgotten your password there is a "Forgot Password?" link on the Pluralsight login screen. You can reset your password from that link.
